Modern Italian food in a romantic, unique setting. A bit pricey, but worth it when you consider the quality of chef Suzette Gresham's ingredients and cooking, along with the polished service headed by co-owner Giancarlo.

The finest steaks in the city in the perfect steakhouse setting. Fans of the old Alfred's on Broadway will be thrilled to see the new location, (the old Blue Fox) in the alley right off the TransAmerica Pyramid. Old fashioned service and charm.

One of the most innovative restaurants to open in a long time. Fabulous food from a variety of Asian countries. One dish not to miss: minced chicken in lettuce cups. And leave room for dessert: a coconut tapioca pudding to die for. Quite reasonable. Perfect for lunch OR dinner.

What a find! A warm, country setting with spectacular food and service. For dinner, you MUST try the Peppered Angus Filet Mignon with freshly cracked white and black pepper and a sauce Diane. For those of us who like liver, pan sauteed calves liver with red onions, vermouth, sage and bacon is outstanding. Seafood and vegetarian dishes too...along with scrumptious desserts. My new favorite Seascape restaurant..

Elisabeth Daniel 550 Washington San Francisco 405-397-6129 Lunch/Dinner
|
What a find! A foodie's delight. From the atmosphere to the magnificent food creations, everything is clean, fresh and pure. A timbale with osetra caviar and lobster essence... subtle foie gras... a sweetcorn brioche... poached ribeye like you've never experienced... a perfect cheese selection... cold plum soup with yogurt.... that was my
first dinner. But certainly not my last. Selections are always changing so that absolute freshness and creativity is maintained. Add to that a sophisticated wine list that is most reasonable given the quality, and Elisabeth Daniel is a remarkable experience.
|
Gary Danko 804 Northpoint San Francisco Dinner
|
Simply one of the finest restaurants in the Bay Area. Food, wine and service of impeccable
quality. Nick Peyton and Gary Danko have put together a menu which enables you to create your own three, four, five or six course dinner. We enjoyed unbelievable preparations of gravlox on a corn blini, foie gras, lobster, seared beef filet and a carmelized peach dessert prepared at the table. The attention to detail is staggering, but not intimidating. Not inexpensive...but worth every dollar.

Beautiful, exclusive, elegant, expensive. George Morrone is one of the most creative chefs in the United States. From a scallop topped with osetra caviar in a vichyssoise sauce to
fallow deer which will overcome any reluctance you might have to try something this different, a meal to remember. And then top it off with the best banana split you ever tasted.
|

This is a fun restaurant with basic yet innovative California food. A few dishes you must try are spaghetti with shrimp, served in a bowl...and a great pork chop with carmelized onions and chunks of bell peppers. Their bread alone is worth the visit...small flat rolls and onion focaccia were two breads served on my last visit.

I must confess: I sure miss Trader Vics in San Francisco. But I'm thrilled I can still enjoy pupus and a Navy Grog at this beautiful restaurant on the water in Emeryville. And much as old favorites from shrimp to a cosmo salad are the dishes I crave, there are wonderful new
creations that raise Traders to an even higher level.
